Message so I changed oil the other day and I have lost near 2 quarts of oil within 300 miles of driving. I now have put about 600 miles to the new rebuilt long block and the car is still burning oil. This weekend I will do a compression and leak down tests and will report the results. What suprised me is that I don't see smoke out of the exhaust, only a little bit on cold start. Look into the spark plugs hole into the combustion chamber, I do see some sign of oil, the tip of the plug is all white and the thread is burning black, right at the end of the thread, at the washer, there is some fresh unburned oil. Even no visual smoke in the engine baybut it is very eyes burning when I stick my head in there, I know that have cracks at the downpipes. So please someone tell me how do I know if the rings are bad or the valve seals. thanks in advance
